Nowruz Festival Den Haag


Nowruz Festival is the closure event of Nowruz in The Hague on the 5th of April 2020. It is celebrated with musicians, poets, writers, dancers and food and drinks from all over Central Asia. Headliners include the famous Neyenban player Saeid Shanbehzadeh from South-Iran, the Afghan musician Ilyas Nadjafi with an extraordinary combination of Dhrupad, Gazal and Qawwali songs and poets amongst others Kawa Nemir (James Joyce translator) and Ofran Badakshani. We bring together speakers and performers with deep Afghan roots to learn more about the rich cultural heritage of Afghanistan – and the need to stand up on behalf of the country’s girls, who have the power to secure a meaningful future for the nation.
